Prevent GPT link sharing
what actually works
If your GPT can be accessed by a shareable link, it can be reused by anyone that link gets shared with. To stop link sharing, you need an enforcement layer.

Why link sharing is so hard to stop
If access is based on “having the link,” then the link is the credential. Credentials get copied. That is normal human behavior. Real security does not depend on people being perfect.
What does not work
- “Please don’t share”: That is trust, not enforcement.
- Hidden pages: URLs spread. Bookmarks spread. Screenshots spread.
- Basic passwords: Passwords get shared the same way links do.
What works
To prevent GPT link sharing, you need to move from link-based access to user-based access. That means:
- Users must sign in
- Usage must be tracked per user
- Access must be revocable
- Billing status must be enforced
LockedGPT is a platform designed specifically to secure, control, and monetize access to custom GPTs. Instead of exposing a shareable GPT link, you put the GPT behind an API layer that enforces access rules.
